Synthesis of p-phenylenediamine intercalated graphite ozide and its application in removing heavy metal ions from waste water

A novel nanomaterial composed of two dimensional graphite oxide intercalated with phenylenediamine unit had been prepared via chemical interaction of exfoliated graphite oxide and p-phenylenediamine. The intercalation reaction was closely related to the reaction temperature. X-ray diffraction measurements and infrared spectroscopy characterization demonstrated the successful intercalation of phenylenediamine unit into the layered graphite oxide.

The obtained nanomaterial showed reasonable properties in adsorbing Cu2+ and Cr6+. Graphite ozide p-phenylenediamine heavy metal ions nanomaterial
