Technical innovation in wastewater treatment

Nanoscale materials are defined as substances with at least one critical dimension less than~100nm. These materials, if properly engineered, have unique electrical, thermal, mechanical, and chemical properties that are highly desirable for applications in electronics, energy, biotechnology, medical, and environmental sectors. Wastewater treatment industry is one of the environmental sectors where nano-materials can be used. This paper reviewed the antibacterial activities of ZnO and patents related to the antibacterial activites of ZnO. This review paper could be a good reference for the further use of ZnO nanoparticles in environmental sectors, for example in wastewater treatment.
