Application of SWAT Model on County Level-a Case Study in Chenan County, Hebei Province

SWAT is a distributed model which is applied to a wide range of water resources as well as water environment, however, its hardly seen to be used in county level. In this paper, we take Chenan county as a case, Use the new SWAT model interface, with 2000-2006 meteorologic data and remote sensing evapotranspiration(ET), the Chengan SWAT distributed model is developed based on the land use map, the soil map, DEM, water conservancy and ET from the remote sensing of Chengan county, Heibei province. Crop pattern change, Irrigation scheme change, irrigation water source change scenarios is simulated and real water saving of different scenarios is analyzed. The simulation result is to provide important scientific basis for integrated planning of water resources of Chenan county. Its have a significant reference value to a further application of SWAT in county level as well.
