Development of a Tool for the Application of County-level SWAT Model in Beijing
To achieve efficient management of water resources in Beijing counties, an application system of the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model has been developed based on the SWAT theory and data structure. The fast display function of thematic maps is developed in system. The function of groundwater height simulation is realized through groundwater parameter setting provided by the system. For the output analysis, arbitrary temporal and spatial graphic display of hydrological factors can be realized. The water balance analysis module at subbasin level is also provided. Land use change and agricultural management scenarios setting modules are included in the system, which greatly enhances its capability of predicting the change of hydrological factors under various land use types and agricultural management scenarios. The system has been applied in five counties of Beijing and achieved satisfactory results.
