Discussion on Measures for Integrated Water Resources and Environment Management in Tianjin
There are the problems of serious water shortage and water environment pollution in Tianjin. Reasonable utilization of water resources and improvement of water environmental quality have been very important work to insure steady economic and social development. Therefore, it is utmost important to realize integrated water resources and environment management. This paper analyzed the situation of water resources and environment and the problems of water management in Tianjin; introduced the experience in implementing GEF Haihe Basin project; discussed the measures for integrated water resources and environment management, including establishment of integrated water resources and environment management organization, integrated water resources and environment management plan, water resources and environment information sharing mechanism, public participation mechanism. These measures will promote implementation of water resources and environment management and give support to realization of water resources and environment sustainable development in Tianjin.
