Study of CBM geology characteristics of Gemudi syncline in the west of Guizhou province

Through the analysis of surrounding rock, coal seaM burial depth, coal quality and Hydrologic geological condition, methane-beating property characteristics of coal reservoir in the Gemudi Syncline were elucidated. Most wall rock of coal reservoir are mudstone and silt which is favourable closing terrane. Burial depth of main excavating coal seam is moderate. The ground water activity is thin, and there are absolute ground water systems between each coal seams, which made bad connectedness one another to accelerate CBM enrichment. In researching area coal reservoir metamorphose is high, CBM content is high, and hole-cranny system developing degree is high, permeability of the great mass of main coal seams exceeds 0.1 mD. The result demonstrated that the southeast of Gemudi Syncline is best advantaged part to prospect and exploit CBM.
