Role of Multimedia in Learning English Language: A Case Study
The education system of Bangladesh, particularly the primary and secondary sector suffers from many problems, most severe of which is lack of quality teachers and pervasive spread of tuition and coaching. The result of public examinations, particularly secondary school certificate (SSC)examination and higher-secondary school certificate examination shows that the greater part of unsuccessful students fails in English and Mathematics. The situation is further aggravated in rural schools, where more than 70% of students of the country study. To address this two-fold problem, a research was conducted in Bangladesh to understand the effect of multimedia content on English learning. This paper presents the result of experiment.
