The Application of Information Technology in the School-Family Communication

The communication between family and school is of great significance on the learner s growth and development. With the application of information technology in the education, the channel of communication between family and school is also changing continuously. In this research, learners academic achievements and learning attitude are analyzed in the class adopting new channel of communication based on data collected through questionnaire before and after the adoption of new channel of communication. It is found that, this new channel of communication has provided technological basis for the continuous communication between family and school. With the increase of communication between the teacher and parents, more knowledge and experiences are delivered by the teachers, and the parents tend to show more concerns on childrens learning situation, the learners learning attitude can be changed to a certain extent. In this research, no significant differences are found in the learners achievement. In the future, more exploration and efforts are still required for proper utilization of this new channel of communication to promote the learners sustainable development.
