Effects of ICT Capability on Research Productivity of Faculty

This study is about finding the factors that affect faculty research outputs of selected Level III Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU)-ac-credited engineering-and technology-related programs of higher education institutions (HEIs) in Luzon, Philippines that served as basis in developing Faculty Research Development Program based on the gathered data from 2004-2008. Descriptive statistics showed that most of the faculty are relatively young, male, masters degree holder, have an average teaching load of 15 units a week, have an internet access at home, highly skilled in using different ICT tools, and motivated in conducting research. They are productive in paper presentations but none has patent. Multiple regression analysis showed Faculty Profile in terms of Educational Attainment and Motivation (in terms of Additional Income and Compliance with Publish or Perish policy of the institution) moderated the effect of Software Capability of the institution on faculty research outputs. Thus the null hypotheses were partially upheld.
