Revolution of Machine Operation Training-A Simulative e-Learning System
Traditional machine operation training has been usually conducted by mentor lecturing and demonstration with machine types getting more complicated and machine operation procedure altered more constantly. Due to the high turnover rate of first-line operators and consequent large needs of training courses, traditional mentor training cannot well keep pace with the fast-changing training process. Longer on-job learning curve and learning inefficiency are the frequent outcomes under this training mode. To solve these problems, we develop an experimental e-Learning system, which features the function of simulative operation for trainees to make repeated virtual practice, along with the link to the KM database to integrate related information with the system. In this paper we will provide the introduction of the new mechanism and illustrate how it works on machine operation training. How the system can be functionally applied to various industries will also be briefed.
