Utilizing RFID For Supply Chain Business Process:A Case Study
The research aimed to demonstrate potential business benefit of implementing RFID and associated Information Technology. Considering contribution of Apparel industry to the national economy, the research focused on Apparel Manufacturing Supply Chain Process utilizing RFID. A mid level Apparel Manufacturer and Exporter is studied and projected with a proposed solution. The case study extracted Return on Investment (ROD ratio by projecting investment plan and considering control of inventory pilferage and information flow delay. This topic is selected with a view to assist Manufacturing Industry in developing concepts for improving Supply chain business processes that are intended to be implemented by using IT systems and radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. The study recommended implementation of RFID and associated IT solution for the Apparel Industry with a view to maximize business benefit for entrepreneur, create employment and uphold national position in global Apparel Manufacturer and Exporters market.
