iAvion An Air Transport Metric for Networked Readiness
The new challenges of Air Transport Sustainability (ATS) depend on the Airlines a-doption of AICt (Aeronautical Information and Communication Technology). In fact, a new AeroTelecom sector is emerging, by the convergence of Aeronautical and telecom sectors; each of them with its own Regulation, Authority and Industry standards but until now, with a lack of cooperation on services for Pax, Cockpit and Crew, according to the author. Allowing a new world airlines characterization (iAvion Index ranking), we could support the establishment of an iAvion platform (or Observatory)in order to measure and share the Information Society a-doption and trends of Air Transport. The reference methodology for this iAvion index is the e-quivalent analysis of Information Society index for countries of Networked Readiness Index. In fact, a correlation between CAPEX (investment) and OPEX (expenses) of ICt inputvs. Revenue growing, higher productivity and less global warming could be set up for Air Transport.
