Challenges of Implementing e-Goverance in NGOs
Non Government Organizations (NGOs) are major contributors to sustainable development and expansion of social safety net. In developed nations, eGovernance plays the role of central nerve system to serve their citizens with accountability and transparency. Being powerful centre for empowering people, NGOs can create positive impact on socioeconomic factors affecting the society. For that, NGO activities demand good governance and it is vital for them to leverage benefits of e-Governance. However, implementing an e-Governance initiative is a challenging and daunting task from technological, social, legal and security aspects. In this paper, the authors attempt to explain how e-Governance can be implemented by NGOs, and highlight the challenges in implementing it.
