ICT Development for Nation Building-A Malaysian Ezperience

摘要：

Since its independence in 1957, Malaysia has transformed from an agricultural-based economy to a manufacturing intensive economy starting 1970s. In 1996, a national initiative was launched and implemented to project Malaysia to a knowledge society with intensive ICT development through a national project name Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC). This paper provides a study on the ICt development for nation building in Malaysia through this national project and presents a coverage of the Government incentives, flagship applications and ICt development programs across multi sectors in Malaysia that aim to power the growth of Malaysian economy and develop a knowledge based information society.
