The Application of PLS Regression to Chinese Employment Demand Analysis

摘要：

Employment is an important macro-economic performance indicator and also an importance macro-control goal. The employment demand has close relations with industry structure and urbanization level. In this paper, PLS regression is applied to reveal the Chinese employment demands relationships with the urbanization level and GDPs of the primary, secondary and tertiary industry. It is necessary to speed up the urbanization process and promote the development of tertiary industry in order to address the employment problem brought by the growing labour population.
