Analysis of the Automobile Front Wheel Shimmy Influenced by the Steering System

摘要：

Based on one vehicle, dynamic analysis has been taken on the mechanism of front wheel shimmy, especially for research about the effect of steering system on the shimmy. The steering system, including dry friction and clearance, has been established by using ADAMS, and added into the whole vehicle model to analyze the wheel shimmy. The results shown the nonlinear effect in steering system has an important effect on the wheel shimmy, which should be attached importance to vehicle design and maintain.
