Electrochemical Study of Mimetic Biomembranes and Biosensors

Biosensors are becoming increasingly important because there is unprecedented demand on development of analytical devices for detecting, quantifying and monitoring of biologically-related species in scientific researches as well as daily life. Particularly attractive is the application of electrochemical biosensors with combined advantages offered by the selectivity of the biological recognition elements and the sensitivity of. electrochemical transduction process. Some of these electrochemical based biosensors have already been well-studied and commercialized. Electrochemical study of mimetic biomembranes and biosensors is one of classic research objectes in our laboratory. In the last few years, new concepts, technologies and methods, such as nanotechnology, biomolecular affinities, etc. have been introduced into the topic.
