Determination of Nitrite with Didodecyldimethylammonium Bromide Modified Electrode

A novel nitrite sensor was developed by the immobilization of didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) on the glassy carbon electrode. The electrochemical behavior and mechanism of the modified electrode towards the oxidation of nitrite were investigated. The DDAB modified electrode exhibited fast response and good sensitivity towards the oxidation of nitrite. The linear dynamic range was comprised between 1.0×10-6 M and 1.0×10-4 M in terms of the relationship between nitrite concentration and the oxidation peak current, sensitivity is 0.03924 μA.μM-1.
