Nanomaterial/Ionophore Based Electrode for Anodic Stripping Voltammetric Determination of Lead: An Electrochemical Sensing Platform toward Heavy Metals
The contamination of natural waters by heavy metals is increasingly becoming a serious environmental problem throughout the world since heavy metals can cause many disorders in the plant and animal kingdoms, and tend to accumulate in the food chains. The determination of toxic heavy metals in the environment is of great importance from the ecotoxicological point of view. Compared to its spectroscopic competitors such as atomic absorption and atomic emission spectroscopy, stripping voltammetry has great potential for on-site environmental monitoring due to its favorable portability, suitability for automation, short analysis time, low power consumption and inexpensive equipment.
