Direct Electrochemistry and Electrocatalysis of Horseradish Perozidase Based on the Synergic Effect of CaCO3 Microspheres and Au Nanoparticles
Direct electron transfer between an electrode and a redox enzyme is an important foundation for biosensors and bioreactors. The matrix for the fabrication of modified electrode is of great significance to remain the activity of enzyme and to facilicate the electrode shuttle. Recently, organic-inorganic hybrid materials based on the functional biopolymer, chitosan (CS), take on an increasing importance in developing functional biomaterials. Owing to the possessing of amino groups, covalent attachment of CS to the rigid inorganic network using organosiloxane precursor containing epoxide ring, gamma-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysiloxane (GPTMS), could be obtained. Such biocomposite materials showed potential in protein separation, enzyme immobilization and biosensors.
