NADH-Mediated Deposition of Silver on Gold Nanoparticles: A Mode in SPR Biosensor Design
Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is one of the most exciting surface-sensitive techniques for detecting analytes adsorbed on a metal surface 1. In the past years, great progress has been made in the development of SPR for the biomolecular interaction analyses (BIA), such as protein-protein binding, DNA hybridization, and antigen-antibody association processes 2. However, these researches mainly focused on the study of binding processes between large biomolecules. There are scarce reports on the detection of small molecules directly by the conventional SPR technique because the changes in the refractive index from the binding processes of small biomolecules are often small.
