Cooperative Acquisition Algorithms Analysis and Comparison for Galileo E1 OS Signal

To satisfy the demand for higher performance of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), new signals and modulations are designed and adopted, which exhibit some mutual innovative characteristics, especially in spread sequences generation, subcarriers modulation applied and the presence of data and pilot components. So as to take advantage of new signal patterns, it is necessary to develop new acquisition algorithms. Thus, this paper introduces and analyzes two cooperative acquisition algorithms, namely non-coherent, coherent cooperation method for the Galileo ElOS signal. The basic principle is from the literature, whereas the schemes are improved and implemented in frequency domain. Then from a statistical view, the receiver operating characteristic of both methods are provided and compared. The simulation results indicate the feasibility of algorithms and suggest that the coherent cooperation algorithm outperforms the noncoherent method in the effectiveness.
