Measurement of Mode Field Diameter and Effective Area of Photonic Crystal Fibers using Far Field Scan Method
We first present relationship between PCFs structural parameter (d/A) and mode field diameter (MFD), effective area (Aeff), numerical aperture (NA) and correction factor kn (=Aeff/πw2, w=MFD/2). Optical power distribution of PCFs is found to be not Gaussian.
