Ecological Safety Design of Anti-disaster Sports Venues

At 14:28, May 12, 2008, a killer earthquake in Chinas Sichuan Province shocked the world. Within a fleeting moment, buildings in countless villages collapsed leaving a big of number of victims homeless. According to investigation, sports venues of spatial structure design and good anti-disaster function were rarely brought down by the earthquake, and were used as shelters for victims after the quake, such as Mianyang Wuzhou Gymnasium, Deyang Gymnasium, Chengdu Gymnasium. This gave us an enlightenment; it is an important means of bringing to play the utility efficiency of sports venues and integrating resources to take into consideration anti-disaster functions of sports venues in the overall urban anti-disaster planning and in optimizing the architecture design so as to make it an integral part of urban public safety system.
