Planning-design Strategies of Sports Facilities Based on the Need of Urban Refuge
In the 5. 12 Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008, Mianyang Jiuzhou arena was used as urban refuge and the Earthquake-fighting Command-Center of Mianyang, and accommodated a total number of thirty thousand victims from Beichuan Country in the north. As is known that refuge and succor are crucial act against urban disasters, and it is necessary to program and build up an effecient Disaster Prevention System and Shelter Network in order to provide residents with essential loging and rescue space. Compared with other buildings, urban sports facilities, including sports center, stadiums, gyms and sports venues, has some advantages on performing as large-scale fixed refuge and rescue center.
