Research on Improvement of Legal Construction in Emergency Managment Systems for Earthquakes
In the early morning of May 12, 2008, an earthquake of magnitude 8.0 occurred, with its epicenter in Wenchuan County. It was later named the Wenchuan Earthquake. The earthquake left over 69225 people dead and about 374640 injured, completely destroying innumerable houses and buildings, resulting in the suspension of such lifelines as city water, electricity, and gas supply, and halting transportation systems including road and railway traffic. It inflicted extensive damage not only on Wenchuan, but also on Mianzhu and other cities. In the light of destruction caused by the earthquake, in 2008, the China Government issued some restoration laws and programs, which includes Guidelines on Restoration Construction after Wenchuan Earthquake by State Department, Notice about Strengthening Denotion Utilization Management against Wenchuan Earthquake by State Department.
