Urban Disaster Prevention Space in Reconstruction after Wenchuan Earthquake
Wenchuan earthquake caused seriously harmful consequences to ecological environment, physical and humanities construction and development, especially to lives and properties. The huge losses was impressive; 69 185 death, 18 467 missing, 374 171 injured, more than 45 million people afflicted, 7.789 million houses collapsed, 2.459 million houses damaged, more than 5million people were homeless, the direct economic loss 845. 14 billion RMB, fund demand of restoration and reconstruction according to measurement and calculation is about 1 trillion RMBamounted to total annual GNP of the Sichuan province. Most of deaths are occurred in town. Take Beichuan for an example; the mortality rate of rural area is about 1.5%, while the number is 50% in town. All the things above make us sign: why towns are such frangible towns in earthquake? What will happen if Wenchuan earthquake breaks in summer?winter and holiday? What enlightenments do we get from the disaster?
