Optimization of Cold Chain Logistics Network Layout Based on Genetic Algorithms
This paper presents a study of a two-stage distribution problem of a cold chain system. The nonlinear relationship between rate of food corruption and time is introduced under the assumption of constant temperature conditions. Based on the previous assumption, a model of network layout of cold chain logistics is set up. The genetic algorithM is applied to solve the model and optimize the network layout of cold chain for distribution of chilled or frozen foods. The physical distribution system is structured in such a way that the cost for storage and transportation in the whole distribution system is minimized, and the product quality decrease is minimization. A penalty function is introduced and a computational experiment is used to test the model and algorithm.
