A Comparison between Arc-Based and Path-Based Reduction Methods for Network Sensitivity Analysis
Two gradient-based sensitivity analysis methods, arcbased reduction and path-based reduction methods respectively, are discussed in this paper. These two methods can deal with more general problem that the number of paths is larger than the sum of the number of links and the number of OD pairs in the network. Based on these two methods, we evaluated arc-flow derivatives of an example network and obtained identical results.
