Parameter analysis of false twist compact drafting method on cotton ring spinning yarn quality
Systematical experiments were conducted to study the spinning parameters of the false twist drafting method for cotton ring spinning frame. Fractional factorial design (FFD) was employed in the screening experiment to evaluate the effects of four spinning parameters, viz. twist factor, breaking draft ratio, gauge of breaking draft zone and rotational speed of the false twist tube. Regression analysis results shows that the twist factor and rotational speed of the false twist tube are the most significant factors affecting the yarn evenness, breaking strength, breaking elongation and hairiness index. Then the steepest ascent experiment was used to approach the optimal responses area. Finally the central composite design (CCD) and response surface methodology (RSM)were used to determine the optimal values of twist factor and rotational speed of the false twist tube. The validation experiment shows that the percentage error between predicted value by the model and the experimental value of four kinds of yarn properties were relatively small, confirmed that the mathematical models have satisfactory accuracy.
