Treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater with multi-strain bioaugmentation process of SBR

Printing and dyeing wastewater is the main source of textile industrial pollution, since a variety of dyes and chemical agents are organic matter which is difficult to degrade, and thus the conventional biological treatment makes it difficult to attain a designated standard. In this paper, by adding high effective multi-strain microbe to coagulationsedimentation and SBR process composite system, it was found that bioaugmentation enhanced the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater with a COD about 900 mg ? L-1 and achieved the desired results. In the waste water each contamination index a-chieved the discharge standard, in which the average effluent COd reached 91 mg ? L-1 and the removal rate was 89.6%. The study shows that multi-strain bioaugmentation SBr process is feasible and effective in treating textile-dyeing wastewater.
