University Education and Youth Development Performance and Participation Opportunities for the Nezt Generation in The UK
Mr President, Vice Minister, distinguished guests, colleagues in FISU, ladies and gentlemen I have a confession to make at the start.... I aM not a sport scientist, not a winter sports specialist, but I do have over 30 years experience in the management and delivery of university sport as both a service and a means of developing young people to their potential, with some elements of the sport sociologist in my approach. My aim today is to give you a flavour of how university sport in the UK is currently contributing to the development of our next generation of both elite athletes and those who support that future development as young leaders and community workers through the medium of sport.
