An Optimal Collaboration Strategy for the Individual Resercher in the Knowledge Collaboration Network
In this paper, we introduce the theory of mathematical programming to analyze the optimal collaboration strategy for the individual resercher in the knowledge collaboration network. There are two improvements in this paper compared with the earlier work. One is that it focuses on the individual optimization rather than the global optimization of the whole network, and it could help one researcher to decide how to collaborate based on his/her own behalf. The other is the introduction of more accurate method to measure the distance between two researchers based on the earlier work.. By treating the knowledge collaboration network model as a variational inequality problem, we obtain an optimal time that an individual researcher should be allocated. In addition, some qualitative properties of the solution pattern are examined and several numerical tests are conducted in order to analyze the behavior of the individual researcher towards the knowledge collaboration network.
