Determining Risk Management Strategies under Uncertain Environments
Risk is inherently present in any construction project. To improve efficiency and quality of decision-making in uncertain construction environments and help contractors to deal with risk events, a framework of risk management is proposed in this paper. This framework provides a systematic approach to first identify risk events and consequent risks, and then use fuzzy set theory to represent uncertainties of risk potentials of risk events and utilities of risk management alternatives, and finally evaluate the risk management strategies. An example is provided to illustrate the application of the proposed framework.
