This paper illustrated the status of land degradation in Central Asia and the world. It also illustrated CACILM (Central Asian Countries Initiative for Land Management), including its background of establishment, mission, organizational structure, project funding, action plans, anticipated environmental benefits, and the cooperation between China and Central Asian Countries within the framework of CACILM.
