Application of QFD Methodology in Development of a New Wallet-QFD and Knowledge Management
The product development and management engineering curriculum at the Graduate School of Yamagata University covers from the basics of QFD to technology deployment, and Comprehensive QFD through the introduction of Design of Experiments. The greatest focus is given on the study of the SECI model which integrates QFD and Knowledge Management This curriculum guides students from the basics of how to understand the implicit knowledge of demanded quality of customers through how to translate theM into the tacit knowledge of planned quality and setting of design quality. From among the many excellent student papers generated every year from this course, the author will report a case study involving Application of QFD Methodology in Development of a New Wallet. This case study is comprehensive enough that it can be used as material for a 3-4 day workshop for business people.
