Simulation Study on Deformation-Failure of Roof on Coal Mining Overlapping Face Using Discrete Element Method
The paper simulates to deformation-failure of roof on caving of overlapping face using discrete element method, and obtain basic data on the distribution features of stress on overburden rock and growth law of water flowing fractured zone while mining. The simulation shows that caving of overlapping could lead to obvious increase of the damage height of coal roof. And, the increased water flowing fractured zone could probably touch the aquifer. As a research result, we can guide the rpof water preventing work in coal mining.
