Control and Simulation of the Ground Pressure Evolutional Process Based on the Reconstruction of Mined-out Environment & Continuous Mining Method

Aiming at a series of challenges such as stress control and ore removal, when we exploit the slightly inclined medium size deposits using the traditional mining methods, the reconstructed mining environment and continuous caving method is proposed in the first time. In order to get the distribution and variation rules of both stress and displacement fields, a calculation model of stoping figures is built up by FLAC3D for simulating ground pressure evolutional process. This can optimize the stope structural parameters and mining sequence, as well as propose the practical and feasible control technologies. The results show that the concentration of displacement and stress in surrounding rock intensifies with the in-creasement of excavation steps. In addition, the maximum compression and tension stress reach to 54MPa and 3. 9MPa, which are close to the peak strength of surrounding rock. When the tailings are backfilled, the magnitude of floor heaves reduces about 5mm, and the maximum compressive stress droppes to 32MPa, too. The results reveal that the distribution of both stress and displacement fields has improved and the stability of slopes can be ensured during the mining process. This study is significant not only can guide the mining design, but also can promote this mining method for application and generalization to the other mines.
