Photoelastic Ezperimental on Stress Field of Surrounding Rock in Deep Strip Pillar Mining

Strip pillar mining is the effective techniques to control mining subsidence, protect surface structures and ecological environment in China. With the increase of mining depth, deep mining problems under structures are more and more serious. Deep wide strip pillar mining is being used step by step in Chinas coal mines. The stress distribution law in the surrounding rock of deep strip pillar mining is the theoretical basis of study of overburden strata failure mechanism. Based on the geological and mining conditions of the coal mine in FengFeng, three photoelastic experiment simulation models were set up through changing the mining depth. The mining width and pillar width, recovery ratio, and the strip pillar numbers are the same in those three models. The similarity theory and the photoelastic experiment method were used to study the stress distribution law of the surrounding rock in deep wide strip pillar mining under different mining depths. The stress distribution law of the surrounding rock under different depths were compared and analyzed. Some basic laws of stress distribution and stress concentration were obtained as mining depth changed. And the results have some theoretical guidance purpose for optimization designs of deep strip pillar mining.
