Analysis of Guiding Gas Outburst by Roof Fall and Top Coal Caving
The case of gas outburst due to roof fall, isnt suitable for drawing up a safe rule that coal seaM with gas outburst danger is forbidden to use mine method of top caving. The abutment pressure is completely different between the coal caving and roof fall. In the production process, the maximum of the abutment pressure of the slicing working face is bigger, and the position of maximum abutment pressure of the top caving is farther. Looking at the result, the danger of gas outburst of top caving wall is smaller. The stress steps degree in plastic distortion zone becomes gently, the chance of outburst is seldom. The web depth, as normal heading size and the cutting depth of the mining machine, the over exposing, reduces to the outburst from roof fall. At the moment of roof fall, the stress steps degree of working face coal seam becomes abrupt, releases the energy of the elastic distortion and gas pressure easily, outburst takes place more offen.
