Application of Performance-Based Design Method in Mine Spontaneous Fire Safety

The fire is one of the magnitude disasters in the mine. According to the characteristic of the mine fire and the spot experience of fire prevention in the mine in ore spontaneous combustion, this paper discussed the application of Performance-based design method in fire prevention design of mine fire. In accordance with the principles and methods of fire safety engineering, the definition of the performance goal in the mine fire prevention had been putting forward with reference to that of building fire protection design, Fully made exertion to the excellence of the clearly of the safety goal, flexible of the design methods, necessity of the evaluation and validation, this method would be effective to make the prevention measures and safety succor during the mine fire. Theoretically and practically it proved that a new thought on the spontaneous fire prevention design in the mine. Its development will promote the fire prevention design being more scientific, rational and bringing benefit. Finally, the writer discussed the difficulty and prospect of study on the application of Performancebased fire design method in mine.
