Virtual Reality System for Inert Gas Injection of Fire Zone in Coal Mine

Sealing fire zone and inert gas injection are common methods when fire occurring in coal mine. The change of the sealed fire zone is uncertain since gas sample is the unique analysis way during the practical operations. Actually the inert gas may disorder flow of fire-gas and induce a gas explosion by impelling the flammable gas layer to fire source like a piston. In this paper virtual reality (VR) system was developed to visually display above course on the basis of numerical simulation by the software FLUENT. The VR system comprises MultiGen Creator software as Modeling tool, VegaAPI as VR programming language, Visual C + + as software developing platform, Vega as display platform and the pfswitch of IRIS performer. The VR system is useful in accident prevention, decision-making of disaster relief and safety training in coal mine.
