Establishment and Application of Geologic Model in Three-Dimensions for Ore Deposit in Open-Pit

A tree-dimensional model of geological layers in open-pit is established with multiple attributes that can undertake measurements and analyses by means of exploration drilling data to form TINs of ground, soil and/or rock interfaces or coal interfaces passing through spatial overlapping in natural order, aiming at the disadvantages of conventional twodimensional geological model in visibility and exploitability. Based on the model, the applying system for open-pit is developed by using ArcObjects groupware techniques of ArcGIS, that functions include display in three-dimension, spatial query, computations of coal reserve and rock excavation quantity and so on, so that the system can meet the actual needs of open-pit in production and management, to provide decision-making and support in the design and production of open-pits. The studying results show that it has more advantages that deposit model based on rock interfaces and therefore can conveniently carry through the various threedimensional analyses of production in open-pits. The relevant thought and scheme about the systeM developing can be also extend to the management in similar large-scale coal open-pits.
