Reliability Study of Australian Longwall Equipment
Typical downtime figures in Australian longwalls are around 50%-60% of the calendar time, most of which are associated with longwall face equipment failures. This paper presents the results of reliability study conducted on two Australian longwall faces. Failure model of the top delays are identified by analyzing the failure data collected. Suggestions are made to improve equipment reliability through condition monitoring and optimum maintenance practice.
