EFFECT OF IMPROVED PROCESS ON BRIGHTNESS AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF POPLAR SCMP
The effect of improved SCMP process on brightness and physical properties was studied in the paper. The results showed that the brightness decreased greatly in refining with sulphonation pretreatment, while the brightness firstly increased with H2O2 bleaching pretreatment then decreased slightly in latter refining, so H2O2 arranged before or after the first refining stage could allay disadvantages from refining. Chemical pretreatment before refining could improve physical properties of pulp in refining, and chips treated by sulphonation, compression and H2O2 bleaching in turn have best softening with the highest physical properties. Compared to steaming pretreatment, softening from chemical pretreatment could decrease fiber damage resulting from compression. NaOH in H2O2 bleaching of SCMP is crucial to increase of physical properties, while H2O2 mainly increase brightness with little effect on physical properties. From improved measures to conventional SCMP, reasonable pulping process has excellent features of decreased energy and chemicals consumption, improved pulp properties.
