EFFECT OF CATIONIC POLYMER ON OCC DYEING

In this paper, cationic polymer PL-800 was used to improve the retention rate and color purity in old corrugated container (OCC) pulp dyeing technology. And a method of combining chromatism with color purity to indicate dye retention was developed. The results showed that PL-800 can improve the retention of basic dyestuff. Dyeing with the cationic polymer PL-800 as an addition agent, the color purity of the linerboard increased and the color became thicker. The optimum conditions of dyeing were dye charge 0.1%, cationic polymer charge 0.08%, temperature 50~55℃, pH value 5, dyeing time 10min, and the sequence of addition is: dye→cationic polymer→alum.
