SCREENING AND APPLICATION OF WHITE ROT FUNGI STRAINS IN DEGRADATION OF LIGNIN AND PITCH IN MASSON PINE
White-rot fungi were evaluated for lignin degradation and pitch eliminating in masson pine chip. Twenty white-rot fungus strains were obtained by petri dishes screening and petri dishes color reaction screening. The one G with the lowest Mycel/Col value in strains, were inoculated onto the Masson pine chip surfaces. The degradation rate of lignin and pitch were measured after 3, 5, 7,9 days, respectively. Along with the inoculation time prolonged, the rate of wood weight lost were increased, the content of total lignin and the content of dichloromethane (DCM)extractives in wood were decreased. For control 1, the rate of DCM elimination can be increased rapidly from 3 to 7 days. From 7 days to 9days, the rate of DCM elimination can be increased tardily. For control 2, the rate of DCM elimination can be increased from 3 to 9 days. The micromorphological and ultrastructural changes in Masson pine chip were studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that strain G not only had great ability to degrade lignin in short time, but also had a good hypha reproduction. Besides, the crosssectional slice-up study of Masson pine strips also show that hypha developed on the cell walls and the intercellular layers.
