LIGNOCELLULOLYTIC ENZYME PRODUCTION IN LIQUID AND SOLID CULTURE OF NEW WHITE ROT FUNGI
Forty-five white rot fungi were used in our research. Six of them were screened with Remazol blue reactions according to their capabilities and speed of RB faded. The optimal liquid media for production of the enzymes were defined by the orthogonal trial, and the behaviors of production of their enzymes were discussed. According to their abilities of producing the enzymes and time of enzyme-producing peaks, two new strains were screened. The results indicated that Pleurotus sp2 and Trametes gallic were two high-yield strains of lignocellulolytic enzymes which were found until now, and the enzyme-producing peaks reached at the early stages of fermentation. Solid state fermentation with these two strains was investigated for the abilities and behaviors of their producing lignocellulolytic enzymes, and the results were compared with those obtained in liquid state fermentation. It is interesting that the two strains degrade lignin preferentially with respect to cellulose and hemicelluloses, which is very beneficial to the biopulping in the paper industry.
