RESEARCH ON HYDROGEN PEROXIDE BLEACHING EUCALYPTUS WOOD TMP BY UREA ADDITION
A comparative study of hydrogen peroxide bleaching Eucalyptus wood TMP by adding urea was investigated. Compared with the conventional hydrogen peroxide bleaching process, the higher improvement in brightness and bleaching efficiencies were determined by adding peroxide to bleaching process with adding urea simultaneously at the same peroxide charge. However, it can not be attained by adding urea before or after peroxide added in peroxide bleaching process. A more detailed experimental showed that the improvement in pulp brightness and bleaching efficiencies were increased initially and decreased afterward with the increasing of adding urea charge, in addition, peroxide consumption was decreased. Other bleaching conditions were also discussed in this study. The results showed that urea addition may allow the use of lower peroxide charge or the attainment of higher brightness pulps, and relative higher bleaching temperature of 75℃ could be applied in peroxide bleaching process by urea addition.
