THE RESEARCH OF PREPARATION OF CATIONIC ROSIN SIZE WITH ROSIN SURFACTANT FOR NEUTRAL SIZING
Rosin is a kind of raw chemical materials with abundant source and low-cost. The development of rosin surfactant can enrich surfactant species and obtain the best of rosin material as well. Cationic rosin sizes with rosin surfactant for neutral sizing were prepared in this work. Rosin surfactant was synthesized from rosin to emulsify rosin, and its properties, such as charge density, were determined. Then the cationic rosin sizes were prepared with the rosin surfactants by solvent method. The effect of cationic rosin sizes in neutral sizing and the mechanism were analyzed based on wet-end chemistry theory. The results showed that the rosin surfactant emulsified rosin efficiently in cationic rosin sizes preparation. Meanwhile, good sizing effects were achieved when the cationic rosin sizes were applied in neutral sizing.
